Version 2026-10-25 (draft for legal review)
Macau Second Hand connects buyers and sellers in Macau directly. We are not part of any sale and do not handle payments; we keep the marketplace safe through review, identity verification and community rules. You must agree to these terms before an account is created.
Macau Second Hand (the “service”) is operated by [Operator legal name] (“we”, “us”). It is an online marketplace, on the web and in mobile apps, where people in Macau list second-hand goods and contact each other.
We are not a party to any sale. We do not collect or hold money, do not deliver goods, and do not guarantee any item, user or transaction. Buyers and sellers agree the price, payment and handover between themselves.
You sign in with a Macau mobile number and a code sent by SMS. Keep your device and codes safe; we will never ask you for a code or password. You are responsible for activity on your account; tell us at once if you think someone else is using it.
Buyers sign in with a phone code before contacting sellers. Inspect items before you pay, meet in public places where possible, and never pay a deposit or the full price to a stranger before seeing the item.
Any sale agreement is between the buyer and the seller only. Disputes are for the two parties to resolve; where the law allows, we may provide relevant information to the competent authorities. We do not handle refunds, warranties or compensation.
You may not list, sell, offer or promote anything that is unlawful in Macau or appears in the Prohibited Items and Services list, including drugs, weapons, medicines, medical devices, tobacco and e-cigarettes, short-term accommodation without a licence, and any service that needs a licence you do not hold. The full list is in the Marketplace Rules.
We review listings before they are published, and use automated tools and staff to detect spam, scams, prohibited items and abusive language in listings and messages. Staff may read messages that are reported, flagged by our systems or needed for an investigation.
If you break these terms we may, depending on the case, warn you, edit or remove content, restrict features of your account, suspend or permanently ban it, and keep records. Serious or suspected unlawful conduct may be reported to the Judiciary Police, the Public Security Police or other competent authorities and may be prosecuted under the law; we cooperate with lawful requests from the authorities. If you think a decision is wrong, contact us to ask for a review.
You keep ownership of what you post and allow us to store, display and adapt it (for example, resize photos) to run and promote the service. You confirm that you have the right to use the photos and text you upload.
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent Macau law allows, we are not responsible for users’ conduct, items, deals or any indirect loss. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
You may ask us to close your account at any time. After closing, we keep some data for the periods set out in the Privacy Notice.
We may update these terms. Before a significant change applies, we tell you in the service and ask you to agree again before you can keep listing or messaging.
These terms are governed by the law of the Macau Special Administrative Region, and the Macau courts handle disputes about them.
